Stories of the Statue

Below this introduction is a compilation of the "Stories of the Statue" articles which first appeared in "The Beacon", a publication of the Alki Community Council. The "Stories of the Statue" was first conceived as a way for individuals to write their thoughts about the way in which the Alki Statue of Liberty had affected their lives, and the lives of those around them.

However, we are also now soliciting stories (email here), from any of you who would care to participate, to be published on this website. The criteria are the same as those requested for The Beacon articles:

  • La La La
  • La La La
  • La La La

If you wish to do so, please send your article about what the Alki Statue of Liberty has meant to you or a loved to us. We reserve the right to edit for brevity, and the right to determine whether the article will appear on this website at all. In keeping with the inclusive spirit of the Statue, and all it represents to so many people, this venue is not a vehicle for articles of a blantently political and/or negative nature--it is to express personal stories by real people who live in, or have been affected by, the Statue and this area.

Thank you.

STORIES OF THE STATUE:

Story #1--The La La of La La

It was a dark and stormy night...

Story #2--The Lum Lum of Lum Lum

It was a light and balmy night...

And so on and so on...
