This is a terrific way to maximize your giving
and it helped our effort to finish this project
quickly.
The following companies are all listed with
the Seattle Parks Foundation as being willing to match your
gift to Parks projects, such as ours.
The plaza had enough blank bricks (and a short enough time
frame for completion) that we would never be able to
"oversell" the bricks. Given that happy circumstance,
we encouraged people to be creative: Since we would give
three bricks for two, and some companies would match up to 2 to 1,
some people got as many as 6 bricks for their families for $250.
We now estimate that between 20% and 25% of
the new Plaza will have inscribed bricks, and most were sold in
just four months.
