Your
gift is tax-deductible. We operate under the fiscal
sponsorship of Urban Sparks, www.urbansparks.org,
a Seattle non-profit corporation organized under Sec.
501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The Seattle Statue of Liberty
Plaza Project exists to finish the project begun by the Alki
Beach community and the citizens of Seattle some years ago.
For a fuller history of the project, please see the History
page of this website (coming soon).
Urban Sparks began several
years ago specifically to assist projects like ours.
They recognized that many well-meaning groups became bogged
down in the sheer detail of "dotting the 'I's' and
crossing the 'T's'" of projects of this sort, and that
without a 501(c)(3) status, it becomes extremely difficult to
raise the amount of money necessary for a project of this
magnitude.
Specific to their projects is
the following language, which assures donors of both the
intentions of the organization to which you are donating and
the tax-deductible status:
"By making your check payable
to SSLPP/Urban Sparks, you acknowledge that Urban Sparks, as
Fiscal Sponsor of Seattle Statue of Liberty Plaza Project, has
full control of the donated funds and full discretion to
ensure that they are used in furtherance of Urban Sparks
501(c)(3) purposes." |
